Nurse Behind Special Bath Talks About Viral Video: “Twins Were Born But Haven’t Realized It Yet”

A nurse who invented a bathing technique for newborns is weighing in on a viral video that has been seen by millions over the last week that features a parent washing newborn twins in a wash basin. The twin infants have their eyes closed and appear to be peacefully sleeping and enjoying the warm bathwater.

In the video, the twin babies finally begin to move and, when they do, they hold each other and snuggle closer.

There is little background on the twins themselves but a nurse who invented the bathing technique is now speaking out about it, and did an interview with Today.

The bathing technique, called the Thalasso Baby Bath, was invented by Sonia Rochel, a maternity nurse in Paris, France. The twins in the video, a boy and a girl, were just a few days old when they experienced the bath, she told TODAY Moms. Their mother declined to release their names.

The video, which has had more than 3 million views on YouTube, was shot in the last month at the maternity clinic where Rochel works.

In an interview posted online last year, Rochel – a grandmother of six — said she came up with the unique bathing method after taking a shower and realizing it felt great to have the water running on her face. So she decided to try the technique with the newborns and noticed it made them move, just as they do in the womb. She believes babies need to still have a recollection of their life before birth.

Rochel has bathed twins together once or twice before and said she was not surprised by the infants’ reaction in the video. The babies’ amazing response to the water is always beautiful to see, she added.

The Thalasso Bath is only for babies younger than 2 months old and Rochel cautioned that parents should not try to duplicate it at home.

The video of the twins, below, has now been seen by more than 9 million people.

Comedian Gavin McInnes: I Was a Pro-Abortion Atheist Until My Children Were Born

I see a lot of women without kids, in their 40s, who are miserable and I see a lot of women after they have children saying, “what the f*** was I doing? Why was I doing fashion PR? I was doing seating plans for a fashion show telling what people sit in what chair. Now I’m shaping human life.”…

I see the housewife as a far superior vocation to mine, and to most….

I mean I make commercials, and funny videos, and T.V. shows or whatever, film projects that people will watch for ten minutes and go ‘heh’ and get on with their day. I essentially… make comic books. You flip through it and you’re done. My wife creates life from her vagina and then — that’s just the beginning — then she shapes this human life….

Who is changing the world more?…

[The birth of my children] made me religious. I was an atheist most of my life and now I am a God-fearing Catholic, because of the miracle of life. And I’m [now] pro-life.

~ Controversial editor, writer, comedian and “Godfather of Hipsterdom” Gavin McInnes, expressing his belief that childbirth and raising children are too often trivialized, as quoted by The Daily Caller, October 23

LifeNews.com Note: Jill Stanek fought to stop “live birth abortions” after witnessing one as an RN at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois. That led to the Born Alive Infants Protection Act legislation, signed by President Bush, that would ensure that proper medical care be given to unborn children who survive botched abortion attempts.

Were Fans Really Booed For Chanting ‘USA’ During the Mayweather vs. Alvarez Fight?

Last night during the Floyd Mayweather versus Saul Alvarez boxing match in Las Vegas, fans chanting “U-S-A” appeared to have been booed.

USA Today documented the incident in their “round-by-round” coverage of the fight.

“Alvarez appears to be growing frustrated. Chants of “U-S-A” broke out, as the Mexican contingent booed in reply,” said the paper.

Alvarez, who lost the fight, is from Mexico.

Sports Illustrated also noted the incident in their live blog, but portrayed it in a different light.

“A U-S-A chant rings from the rafters. Floyd moving around the ring. Jabs again. Tags Canelo with a right hand as Canelo charges in. Canelo still throwing. Crowd boos a little,” wrote Sports Illustrated.

You can hear the chant break out at the two-minute mark here:

So what do you think? Was the crowd booing those chanting “U-S-A” or Alvarez’s poor performance?

Al Qaeda-Linked Group Claims Its Fighters Were Killed by Israeli Drone

CAIRO (AP) — An al-Qaida-linked group active in the Sinai Peninsula says its fighters were the target of a rare Israeli drone strike into Egyptian territory.

Al Qaeda Linked Group Claims Fighters Killed by Israeli Drone

In this March 7, 2007, file photo, the Israeli army Heron TP drone, also known locally as the Eitan, flies during a display at the Palmahim Air Force Base in Palmahim, Israel. Egyptian security officials said Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, an Israeli drone fired a missile in the northern Sinai peninsula, killing several suspected Islamic militants and destroying a rocket launcher. (AP)

Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, in a statement posted on a militant website Saturday, said that four of its members were killed in the Friday attack as they were preparing a cross-border rocket strike into Israel. It said the dead were from Egyptian Sinai tribes. The group said the rocket squad’s leader escaped.

Egyptian security officials speaking anonymously Friday said that a drone firing from the Israeli side of the border had killed five suspected militants. The conflicting death tolls could not be reconciled.

Israel maintained official silence about the strike, while an Egyptian military spokesman later denied the report but did not provide another cause for the explosion.

Obama Calls for Calm, Says Americans Need to Ask if ‘We’re Doing All We Can to Stem the Tide of Gun Violence’ After Zimmerman Verdict

President Barack Obama called for all Americans to reflect on what they can do to lessen gun violence in the country in the wake of George Zimmerman’s acquittal in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

“The death of Trayvon Martin was a tragedy. Not just for his family, or for any one community, but for America,” Obama said in a statement Sunday. “I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher. But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken. I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son.”

“And as we do, we should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities. We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis. We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this. As citizens, that’s a job for all of us. That’s the way to honor Trayvon Martin,” the statement said.

Obama famously weighed in on Martin’s shooting last year when he said, “if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”
