Recently, the Christian Science Monitor published an op-ed by Elizabeth Jahr, in which she asserts “pro-life groups funnel tremendous resources into a legal war against abortion in the US without providing adequate practical support for women to maintain pregnancies. Yet not being able to afford a child is one of the main reasons women have abortions.”
Last night during the Floyd Mayweather versus Saul Alvarez boxing match in Las Vegas, fans chanting “U-S-A” appeared to have been booed.
USA Today documented the incident in their “round-by-round” coverage of the fight.
“Alvarez appears to be growing frustrated. Chants of “U-S-A” broke out, as the Mexican contingent booed in reply,” said the paper.
Alvarez, who lost the fight, is from Mexico.
In an article deemed “news” by Yahoo!, a young woman by the name of Elizabeth Jahr explained to her readers that, in reality, the pro-life movement does not really protect the unborn. Jahr argued that the bulk of pro-life work goes towards legislating abortion out of existence, while pro-lifers ignorantly turn a blind eye to the fact that women experiencing what they perceive to be crisis pregnancies do not have the resources to carry out the alternative, that is, carrying their child to term.
‘It Sounded Really Bad’: 13 Children Injured After Festival Swing Ride Loses Power and Falls to the Ground (UPDATE: Children May Have Been Trapped Under Ride)
A swing ride injured 13 children, some seriously, after it malfunctioned and fell to the ground at a festival in Norwalk, Conn. Sunday, reports WVIT-TV.
CNN reports the ride “apparently lost power causing the children on the ride to forcefully fall to the ground,” according to the Norwalk police Facebook page.
According to The Hour, a Norwalk newspaper, officials first called in the incident as a “mass casualty” with possible entrapment, and crews freed all children from any entrapment quickly.
The CIA has finally admitted that Area 51 exists, according to newly released documents — but the mysterious facility is apparently nothing like what you’ve seen in Hollywood movies and on conspiracy theory websites about aliens.
According to the documents, which reportedly include a map of the base’s actual location in the Nevada desert, Area 51 was only a test site for the U.S. government’s U-2 and OXCART aerial surveillance programs. Well, that kind of explains where the UFO theories came from.
Sarah Palin appeared on Fox News’ “Cashin’ In” Saturday afternoon to talk Obamacare and death panels, and she backed up her appearance with a Facebook post calling out the mainstream media for getting health care rationing really wrong.

What does the U.S. Constitution — specifically the First Amendment — really say about the separation of church and state?
This question has been at the center of public debate for decades, as atheist activists, in particular, have advanced the notion that the nation’s founders envisioned a particularly fervent imposition of the segregation of God and government. But is this really the case?

If Rick Perry has his way, Texas may have to change its nickname from the Lone Star State to the Guns & Ammo State.
In early February, Texas Governor Rick Perry sent a letter to 26 gun and ammunition manufacturers inviting them to move their businesses to his state. Perry also made a 4-day trip to California last month and ran some ads on radio, hoping that a personal appeal might lure business away. California’s Governor Jerry Brown was not impressed with Perry’s efforts and told the news media how he felt about the visit as well as the media’s focus on it.
