Last week TheBlaze reported that the “Newseum” museum of news and journalism in Washington, D.C. was slated to honor two fallen members of Hamas’ media-propaganda wing, al Aqsa Television. After much backlash, the museum has now retracted its decision to memorialize the cameramen, Hussam Salama and Mahmoud al-Kumi, who were killed in an Israeli air strike in Gaza while working for the Hamas-controlled media outlet.
In response, a statement for Newseum reads:
If you carry a gun for self-defense, or have one in your home or car, you should consider having some sort of medical trauma kit and the knowledge required to treat gunshot wounds. Why? Because people don’t always die from gunshot wounds, and there is a chance the injured person may very well be someone you care about (or even yourself).
As Twitchy reported, Colo. Gov. John Hickenlooper is expected to sign into law Wednesday a handful of new gun control regulations, including a bill banning magazines with a capacity of more than 15 rounds. Hickenlooper spokesman Eric Brown had said that ”large magazines have the potential to turn killers into killing machines,” but the ban is also bound to turn into a job-killing machine as manufacturer Magpul readies a move out of state.
In a blog post at CNN.com, David Frum argued today that President Obama needs a “Plan B” on guns. It seems to us the Second Amendment already offers a plan on guns, and we don’t really know what Obama’s “Plan A” is or was: was it the president’s list of 23 executive actions, or his State of the Union call for a vote on an assault weapon ban? Regardless, Frum must suspect that the bitter clingers will scuttle Plan A, and so he’s offering his own backup plan.
