Terror Threat Prompts Evacuation of Non-Emergency Personnel at U.S. Consulate in Lahore, Pakistan

A major terror threat has prompted the State Department to evacuate all non-emergency personnel from the U.S. Consulate in Lahore, Pakistan, CNN first reported late Thursday night. Diplomats were moved to Islamabad, another hot bed of terror activity in the past, on an “ordered departure” from the State Department. The U.S. has also issued a travel warning.

Pakistani officials at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington, D.C., told The Blaze Thursday night they do not have an official comment at this time.

On the run: State Department orders non-emergency personnel out of consulate in Pakistan

As Laura Ingraham noted, al Qaeda might be on the run after all, but it looks like they’re running in our direction. Tonight the State Department ordered all non-emergency U.S. government personnel out of the U.S. consulate in Lahore, Pakistan, citing a specific and “more local” threat than the ones that prompted the closure of 19 embassies.

The State Department’s sudden “reduction of personnel” replaced a previous travel warning.
