Texas attorney general and gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott has put his money where his pro-life mouth is and announced grants to 13 nonprofits in Texas for the purpose of supporting adoption, the result of profits from the state’s relatively new pro-life license plates. The attorney general’s office says, “More than $ 46,000 is being distr…
I have written before on how we know the unborn are persons from fertilization. But now I’d like to address how we know the unborn are biological members of our species from fertilization. This is a basic, undeniable fact of science and yet I still encounter many people who deny this reality. Before you can […]…
The U.S. Conference of Catholic bishops has produced a new video honoring the pro-life spirit and mission Pope Francis has had thus far since becoming the leader of the Catholic Church. “Open Your Hearts to Life! Pope Francis reaches out to the weakest and most vulnerable — “masterpieces of God’s creation” — in h…
Father Stunned to Discover That Google Maps Captured One of the Most Painful Experiences of His Life
Story by Associated Press; curated by Jason Howerton
RICHMOND, Calif. (AP) — A San Francisco Bay Area man wants Google Maps to remove an aerial image that shows the body of his 14-year-old son, who was shot and killed in 2009.
Jose Barrera told KTVU-TV over the weekend that he became aware of the image of his son Kevin earlier in the week. He said he wants Google Inc. to take down the image out of respect for his son, but it wasn’t clear whether he had asked Google directly to take it down.
Tens of millions of women who have had abortions over the last decades worldwide regret their abortions. Marie Ideson of England is one of them.
Every morning when she wakes up she misses the six-year-old little girl who she named Lillie and planned to give a wonderful life — than is until an amniocenteses discovered Lillie had Down Syndrome.
One Woman’s Life Story That’s Filled With so Much Tragedy — and Inspiration — That You Just Have to Read It
The young girl awoke scared and hungry on a cold, hardwood floor. After being torn away from the only parents she had ever known, she now found herself alone and chained to an old metal radiator.
It was only the beginning. Six-year-old Carolyn would be trapped and forced to sustain abuse for three years at the hands of a brutal woman.
drew Forrest is a Western Australian mining magnate and self-made billionaire who many say could launch a successful bid for Prime Minister if he decides to enter the world of politics someday. Forrest was born in Perth as the youngest of three children of Donald and Judith Forrest.
On June 18, 2012 a baby boy named Dominic Pio was born into the world who, had he be given different parents, may never have been born at all.
Mid-way through her pregnancy, Mary Gundrum would learn that her son had an encephalocele, an extremely rare birth defect that occurs when part of the skull doesn’t close properly, allowing the brain to grow through that opening in the skull. Told that her baby boy might not survive the pregnancy or his birth Mary, along with her husband Mark, didn’t contemplate abortion. The Catholic mom told The Boston Globe:
This past January was the first time I attended the March for Life in Washington, D.C. Afterwards, I felt giddy for weeks. There is something about the energy of that many people coming together in defense of life that galvanizes you.
While we were all hoping there wouldn’t need to be another March, it’s looking like 2013 is not the year we end abortion. So we’re gonna march again on January 22, 2014. And nothing will make it better or more meaningful than having you – yes, you – show up.
New information indicates that former President George W. Bush’s life may recently have been saved because of a diagnostic test that would likely have been prevented by the sort of limits Obamacare “quality measures” will impose.
According to an October 11th National Journal piece, “George Bush’s Close Call,” Tom DeFrank writes,
On Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Gdansk, Poland, birthplace of Poland’s famous “Solidarity” union, several thousand people gathered for the fourth March for Life and Family. Each year the march is co-organized by Human Life International Poland.
The march began at the Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers who were victims of communism: three giant steel beams affixed with anchors to form crosses.
I got sentenced to seven years in prison for legally owning guns. I had purchased them in Colorado and brought them with me to New Jersey, home to some of the harshest gun laws in the country, where I moved to be closer to my young son. I complied with all of the regulations, but one day the police searched my car and charged me with unlawful possession of a weapon—even though my handguns were locked, unloaded, and in my trunk. The court said it was on me to prove that I wasn’t breaking any laws, which obviously was very difficult. When Reason magazine covered my case, it wrote, “Even the jurors who convicted him seem to have been looking for a reason to acquit him. But the judge gave them little choice.”
The worst part of the pro-life fight can be feeling isolated in it. Young people longing to stand for life sometimes find little support to do so, but Students for Life of America (SFLA) wants to help students take a stand, bond together, and be more than a rallying cry but an empowering force that unites and strengthens pro-lifers, especially students, to abolish abortion in their generation.
I know you’re eager for some Monday morning good news, so I’ll get straight to it. So far during this 40 Days for Life campaign … through God’s blessings … 135 babies have been saved from abortion – that we know of!
Here are the stories of three of those babies.
How a Texas Teen’s Deadly Shooting May Have Saved His Life – But One of the Two Thugs Who Broke Into His Home Wasn’t So Lucky
When two thugs broke into a Houston home and found a teenager alone, they probably thought it would be an easy “job.” What they didn’t know was the 18-year-old would-be victim is the son of a Houston police officer and knows his way around a firearm.
The teen reportedly first called his dad, a veteran police officer, to tell him that two men were trying to get into the house. It isn’t clear what the father instructed his son to do, but when the suspects entered the home the 18-year-old opened fire, fatally shooting one of them.
