Mandatory Fee Has All Obamacare Plans in Rhode Island Paying for Abortions

In today’s “PolitiFact” piece, the Providence Journal confirmed the existence of the mandatory abortion fee in HealthSource RI, Rhode Island’s Obamacare exchange, which was first exposed by the Rhode Island State Right to Life Committee (RIRTL) last June.

All of the 28 plans available through HealthSource RI include coverage for elective abortion and, thus, under the provisions of the Obamacare law (45 CFR § 156.280, PPACA Section 1303), require the insurers to collect from each enrollee in these plans separate premium payments to pay for the elective abortions covered under the plan.

Rhode Island Legislature Approves Choose Life License Plate

On July 2, in a rare show of unity, Rhode Island legislators found common ground and approved the issuance of a pro-adoption Rhode Island Choose Life License Plate. The preliminary vote on Monday was 40 to 26 in the House and 23 to 13 in the Senate, with the final vote taken in the House on Tuesday.

WESTERLY, R.I. (TheBlaze/AP) — A 28-foot-long dead basking shark has washed ashore on a Rhode Island beach.

The Day of New London (Conn.) reports that a homeowner in the Misquamicut beach area of Westerly reported the shark to police on Sunday morning.

“Police then contacted the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management which then asked Mystic Aquarium to investigate,” The Day writes.
