California: San Francisco Residents: Contact NRA Lawyers to Discuss Pending Magazine Possession Ban

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors recently passed a ban on the possession of so-called “large-capacity magazines,” defined as ammunition feeding devices capable of holding more than ten rounds.  It is expected that the Mayor of San Francisco will sign the ordinance into law any day now.  Once this ban goes into effect, residents will have a short window of time to surrender their magazines to police or remove them from the City.

California: Unconstitutional Ban on Standard-Capacity Magazines Approved By San Francisco Board of Supervisors

On Tuesday, October 29, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a package of gun control measures, including a ban on the possession of so-called “large capacity magazines,” defined as ammunition feeding devices capable of holding more than ten rounds.  Coincidently, a similar bill was vetoed by Governor Brown weeks prior.  Mayor Edwin Lee is expected to sign this measure into law.  Even though Mayor Lee is expected to sign this measure, please call AND e-mail him urging him NOT to sign it into law.  Let Mayor Lee know that criminals are not thwarted by gun control laws.  Those intent on misusing firearms and committing crimes, also known as violent criminals, will obtain “large capacity magazines” illegally through the black market or making them since it is fairly simple to do so.   Once this ban goes into effect, residents will have ninety days to surrender their magazines or remove them from the city.  Mayor Lee can be contacted at (415) 554-6141 or by e-mail at mayoredwinlee@sfgov.org.
