The Catholic University of America’s school of social work is reportedly cutting ties with a group due to its advocacy of abortion.
Will Rainford, who became Dean of the National Catholic School of Social Service (NCSSS) in June of this year, recently announced in an email to students that he was ending relations with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) because of its position that social workers should support access to abortions for clients, according to the Chronicle of Social Change.

We haven’t heard much about those apocalyptic sequester cuts during the president’s most recent vacation, but with school starting again, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius wants America to know that the cuts (which were the president’s idea) have cost 57,000 children a place in Head Start.

Give it up already. The sequester? You built that, President Obama.
It’s a vast oversimplification, but it works. The sequestration cuts scheduled to take effect next week were split down the middle between defense and non-defense spending to motivate both Democrats and Republicans to find alternative spending cuts. The GOP certainly wouldn’t allow defense programs to be cut, would it? Social programs, sure. Just perform a quick Google search of “sequestration cuts” and you’ll find headlines like “11 Drastic Sequester Cuts Threatening Average Americans” and “‘Meat Cleaver’ Sequestration Cuts to Hit Teachers, FBI Agents.”
As Twitchy has reported, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney is trying to do the heavy lifting of pinning on the House GOP the looming sequestration spending cuts and any pain they bring, despite the fact that the sequester was President Obama’s idea. NPR did its best to help Carney with his cause, and today Carney got an assist from Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) and Buzzfeed.
OK then. Good luck with that.
