Mainstream Dem Voters: 9/11 Hijackers As Bad As Tea Partiers

I usually don’t like to read conservative-leaning polls because I don’t like having a false sense of optimism, which those polls usually give us conservatives. I believe a healthy pessimism, though nothing too negative, energizes people to action more than any notion that things are getting better, which can result in our being too relaxed and content.

But conservative-leaning pollsters do provide valuable information when it doesn’t come to politicians’ approval numbers. On the question of what liberals think about certain issues, these polls can be quite revealing.

new survey released yesterday by the right-leaning Rasmussen Reports tells us the following:

“51% of Likely U.S. Voters consider radical Muslims to be the bigger threat to the United States today. Thirteen percent (13%) view the Tea Party that way, and another 13% consider other political and religious extremists to be the larger danger. Six percent (6%) point to local militia groups. Two percent (2%) see the Occupy Wall Street movement as the bigger terrorist threat.”

I’m sure if the Occupy Wall Street group was successful at anything other than turning public and private properties into pigsties, they would garner more than a mere two percent in the question of who the biggest terrorist threat is.

The interesting revelation from this poll is this part:

“[A]mong those who approve of the president’s job performance, just 29% see radical Muslims as the bigger threat. Twenty-six percent (26%) say it’s the Tea Party that concerns them most. Among those who Strongly Approve of the president, more fear the Tea Party than radical Muslims.”

So among likely voters who approve of Obama’s job performance (among the average, mainstream liberals, in other words), only 29 percent can see the reality—the reality—that “radical Muslims,” as phrased by the poll, are the bigger threat when compared to Rasmussen’s given choices of “radical Muslims, the Tea Party, local militia groups, the Occupy Wall Street movement, or other religious or political extremists.”

What’s more, almost as many of these average, mainstream liberals believe that Tea Party members are a bigger threat than “radical Muslims.” Note that “radical Muslim” is a category that includes the hijackers who flew two passenger jets into the World Trade Center towers. Mainstream liberals view your 65-year-old neighbor, who takes her grandchildren to the park twice a week and gives them hard candy, as a bigger terrorist threat than Mohammed al-Boom-Boom with the yellow wooden teeth and the dynamite strapped to his person.

That these liberals believe this is no accident. The pundits on ABC, NBC, and CNN, all of whom work primarily for the advancement of President Obama’s agenda, have created this perception of the Tea Party being domestic terrorists. The Democrat politicians themselves have created the perception, from Rep. James Clyburn to Vice President Joe Biden outright saying it, to Obama telling his crowds of fans in 2010 that the Tea Party is a threat to the country. It’s part of their strategy to silence all dissenters.

Using the word “terrorist” so loosely causes it to lose its meaning and further diminishes our security from the real terrorists—you know, the ones who, according to 29% of mainstream leftists, are only as bad as your grandmother.
