Actor Alec Baldwin, 55, had a serious Twitter meltdown Thursday, threatening a Daily Mail reporter and labeling him a “toxic little queen” over a report about his wife.
Daily Mail reporter George Stark brought the profane wrath of Baldwin on himself when he reported on his wife’s active Twitter feed during James Gandolfini’s funeral Thursday.
From Stark’s report:
It may not be considered funeral etiquette, but Alec Baldwin and his heavily pregnant wife Hilaria took to Twitter during James Gandolfini’s service today.
The pregnant yoga instructor’s social media feed was full of upbeat posts while the Sopranos star’s friends, family and co-stars were gripped with grief at a New York Catholic church.
Messages included a request for ideas about wedding anniversary presents and promotional notes about her upcoming appearance on the Rachael Ray show.
Now, a source close to Hilaria Baldwin, 29, tells the Huffington Post that she was simply retweeting messages that had been tweeted during the service but was not actively on Twitter during the service in the church.
However, even if that is true, that doesn’t excuse Baldwin’s extreme meltdown later (Warning! Graphic language):
Baldwin’s Twitter account has since been deactivated.
Despite saying he “fired” his publicist, Matthew Hiltzik claims he still represents the actor and released the following statement:
“It is disgraceful that this reporter manufactured a story and never called for comment or explanation — especially when it needlessly diverted attention away from a day to honor the memory of a beloved figure like Mr Gandolfini.”
